RUINS OF MARTINUZZI
The starting point of the project was the immediate proximity to Martinuzzi Castle and its ruins, a place with a rich history and a strong presence in community life.
The restoration of the Rhédey Manor by the owners has brought the estate back into the cultural and social life of the area.
Within this context, the goal was to create a space dedicated to wedding ceremonies, but also open to the community.
The expansion of the existing grounds, already active for public events, together with the nearby Reformed Church and the ensemble of protected monuments, naturally defined the framework of Martinuzzi Gardens.
THE GARDENS…
The concept is built around the idea of gardens as an extension of the castle.
A contemporary arrangement of outdoor and indoor spaces that continues the historical estate naturally.
Thematic gardens, pathways, gathering areas, and event spaces create a coherent, living experience.
The wall appears subtly, shaping atmosphere and linking present events with the memory of the place.
Every element is designed to integrate with the surroundings and history, offering visitors and the community spaces for celebration, reflection, and social life, while maintaining a sense of continuity, rooted in the heritage of the castle and the active cultural life of the estate today.
FOR THE COMUNITY
Martinuti Gardens are conceived as an open, versatile space for the community.
They accommodate weddings, cultural events, festivals, exhibitions, and daily gatherings.
Through the variety of gardens and multifunctional spaces, the project supports social life, traditions, and local craftsmanship.
It provides a framework where history and contemporary life coexist naturally.
The gardens respect the past, activate the present, and contribute responsibly to community development.
Designed to be lived and experienced over time, they create lasting connections between people, place, and culture, sustaining both local identity and the ongoing social and cultural life of the estate.
