What if a house could tell you where it comes from without saying a word?

For this house in Ethiopia, we looked for a contemporary way to bring the spirit of the place into the interior — through its colours, textures, craftsmanship and the geometry of its traditional symbols.

Natural wood and black, raw concrete and warm textures, contemporary art and references to traditional Ethiopian forms come together in a quiet, restrained composition.

At the heart of the living room, an interpretation of an ancient Ethiopian geometric pattern becomes a three-dimensional wall. Elsewhere, light, art and vegetation continue the dialogue between tradition and contemporary life.

The result is not a reproduction of Ethiopia, but a home carrying fragments of its identity into the present.
