Bringing the forest to light
Located beside the Bradet ski slope in Borșa, the hotel was originally built and operated as a mountain retreat during the 1980s. The project reimagines the existing building and brings it back into the hospitality circuit through a series of extensions, a renewed façade and a complete interior transformation.
The concept draws directly from the identity of the place. The name Bradet, meaning a forest of fir trees, became the starting point for a discreet graphic intervention on the façades: an abstract composition inspired by the silhouette of fir trees, integrated into the architecture and illuminated at night. Visible from the ski slope and from a distance, the pattern gives the building a new identity while reconnecting it with its natural surroundings.
The material palette continues this narrative. Natural textures, timber and mountain-inspired finishes create the atmosphere of a contemporary chalet, designed to make visitors immediately feel connected to the landscape.
The extensions introduce new layers of hospitality: an event space occupies the ground floor, while a spa and swimming pool are placed at basement level. Together, the interventions transform a former 1980s hotel into a contemporary mountain destination, rooted in the character and memory of Borșa.
Designed to be remembered.
